Model History
The Triumph TR6 was the best-selling Triumph in history when production ended in 1976, but was later surpassed by the TR7. More than 94,000 TR6s were built.

The TR6 was a refined sports car. It featured pile carpet on floors and boot, plush-looking bucket seats, a lovely wooden dashboard and a full complement of instrumentation.

In the US, it featured the six-cylinder engine that was carried over from the TR250, while the UK version had a more powerful fuel-injected engine from the TR5 that included the Lucas mechanical fuel injection system. It traces its lineage back to the four-cylinder Triumphs: TR4, TR4A, TR3/TR3A and TR2.

This stylish six-cylinder sports car is regarded by some as the last true Triumph. Others argue that the TR7 and TR8 that followed were far ahead of their time.

Exterior
Those lines were sculpted by Karmann of course. TR6's have a certain macho presence and this car looks fantastic in Mimosa.

Wheels/Tyres/Brakes
Correct road wheels finish this car off superbly and the tyres look in great shape with plenty of life left in them.

The Brakes pull the car to an even stop and she has travelled very few miles since her MoT in Oct 2008

Engine and Transmission
The history file documents very regular servicing and the engine appears strong with good oil pressure and that glorious engine note.

The gearbox is equally impressive with tight changes.

On the Road
TR6's feel very solid compared to many other sports cars of the era.

Power delivery from the 2500cc straight six is smooth and refined. A wonderful soundtrack accompanies your journey in this particular car with it's twin exhaust pipes.

Further Improvement
This car needs nothing but a warm sunny Sunday afternoon and to be enjoyed.

History File
HRU 174N is being sold on behalf of a customer.

A very comprehensive file accompanies the car which includes records of all former keepers and shows just three owners in the last 29 years. In fact the only reason for sale is the arrival of a baby.

The current owner made sure the car was kept in tip top condition and had the car serviced by a specialist at least once a year despite only clocking up minimal mileage.

Within the file are records of a complete body restoration in 2000 which included inner and outer wings and sills, valance, centre deck, scuttle and b post.

Stainless steel twin exhaust.
